Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientifically validated approach to understanding and improving behavior. It involves analyzing the relationship between behavior and environment to increase helpful behaviors and decrease harmful ones. ABA has been extensively researched and is considered an evidence-based best practice treatment for autism by the U.S. Surgeon General and the American Psychological Association.
We provide ABA services for children and adolescents. Early intervention is especially beneficial, but ABA is effective across all ages. Please contact us to discuss your child's specific needs and how we can best support your family.
Most insurance providers do require an autism diagnosis to authorize and cover ABA therapy. If your child does not yet have a diagnosis, we can connect you with our partner diagnostic clinics to get that process started. Check our Partner Clinics section for more information.
The number of therapy hours is determined by your child's individual needs and assessment results. Our BCBA will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and recommend an appropriate level of service, typically ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week depending on the child's needs and goals.
Very involved, and we love that! Parent training is a core component of our services. We collaborate with parents, siblings, and caregivers to identify meaningful goals and provide ongoing coaching so that you feel confident reinforcing skills at home. Research shows that family involvement significantly improves therapy outcomes.
We primarily provide in-home therapy, which allows your child to learn in their most natural and comfortable environment. We also offer community-based sessions in parks, schools, and other settings to help generalize skills. Sessions are available across Maryland.
